The Negative Transfer Effect of Jianghuai Dialect in Huai’an on Local Students’ English Pronunciation

In English pronunciation learning, the difference between Chinese dialects and will interfere with acquisition of pronunciation. Students often transfer characteristics to pronunciation, which affects learning application Therefore, it is necessary study influence dialect on phonetic acquisition. On basis systematically summarizing theory negative acquisition, this paper takes students a junior high school in Huai’an as samples, investigates effect Jianghuai phonological local students’ English. one hand, vowels manifests following aspects: no distinction long short vowels, tightness length are indistinguishable, incomplete diphthongs. other consonant obvious, including unable distinguish [n] [l], lacking rhyme [v] initial “r”, interdental fricatives [θ] [e]. The research results can help overcome provide scientific guidance for teaching Huai’an.
